In the Zeeland traditional costume of Walcheren, smocking was often applied along the neck. The ladies who wore this costume wore nothing but this dress and therefore wore a (often) self-smocked beukje for every day (the beukje is the part of the Walcheren traditional costume that covers the bosom). This piece of handicraft gives the clothing so much value. In my art objects this technique is highlighted by greatly enlarging details
